Did you know you could schedule your Instagram posts in advance? Or optimize your bio to appear in the Explore tab? There are countless lesser-known Instagram features, settings, hacks, and search options to help take your Instagram game to the next level. And we've compiled some of them here.
Whether you’re a recruiter looking to showcase company culture, an eCommerce marketer, or just an individual looking to use Instagram in the best ways possible, here are Instagram tips and features for you to use.
1. Add and manage multiple accounts from the same device.
Do you have a separate Instagram account for your furry friend? No need to be embarrassed; you can proudly manage your pet's profile alongside your personal or business account. Here's how:
From your profile, tap the gear icon. (On Android, tap the three horizontal lines in the top right corner first.)
Scroll down and tap "Add Account."
Enter the username and password of your other account, and you're good to go.
To switch between profiles, simply hold down your profile picture in the navigation bar to access all connected accounts.
2. See all the posts you've liked.
Have you ever wanted to see all the posts you've liked in one place? It's easy. Follow these steps:
Go to your profile and tap the three lines in the top right corner (on both Android and iOS).
Tap "Your Activity," then "Interactions," and finally "Likes."
You can now view up to 300 of the most recent posts you've liked.
To un-like a post, simply go to the post and deselect the "heart" icon below it, and the user won't be notified.
3. Hide, delete, or disable comments and likes on your posts.
On Instagram, you have more control over who can comment on your content. This is especially useful for managing a business account. Here's how:
To filter comments by keyword, go to Settings, tap "Privacy," then "Hidden Words," and toggle "Hide comments" to filter out offensive words. You can also add custom filters.
To delete comments, swipe left over the comment and click the garbage can icon. This applies to your own comments as well.
To disable comments for individual posts, go to the page where you add a caption, tags, and location when posting an image. Tap "Advanced Settings" and enable "Turn Off Commenting."
4. Clear your Instagram search history.
To clear your search history on Android and iOS, follow these steps:
Go to your profile.
Tap Settings, then "Your Activity."
Tap "Recent searches" and click "Clear all."
5. Communicate with your audience using Instagram Broadcast channels.
Instagram's Broadcast Channels is a messaging tool for creators to engage with a large group of followers. You can share updates, behind-the-scenes content, text, video, voice notes, and images. As of February 2023, this feature is in Beta mode for U.S. creators only.
6. Pin important content to the top of your Instagram Grid.
To highlight specific posts on your profile grid, follow these steps:
Choose the Reel or image post you want to pin.
In the top right corner of the post, tap the three dots and click "Pin to your profile."
This is a great way to showcase ongoing partnerships, and popular content, and ensure new followers see your most important posts.
With these Instagram hacks, you can take your Instagram experience to the next level and enhance your brand's presence on the platform. Now you have the tools to use Instagram more efficiently, control your profile's content, and engage with your desired audience.
